My Story

At age 15 I’ve decided to create my herd name, HBF and my business name Holler Back Farms With the hope to make my name aesthetic so that as I develop my herd the name will become well known. Since about 2017 I have been raising Nigerian Dwarf goats as my 4H project which has led me to learn about biosecurity, parasitology, AI, rotational grazing, and other animal science’s.

Herd Management Techniques

The following is how i manage my herd to keep everyone healthy and happy. My herd of goats is divided into three dry lots, keeping the bucks, does, and kids separate than if needed temporary biosecurity, and special attention pens allowing all goats to get the care they need when needed and otherwise can be built, otherwise the pens keep everyone together. My animals are provided with Kent Performance Minerals free choice, and are supplemented with BOSS sunflower seeds for skin and coat health. My herd is primarily fed beet pulp, alfalfa pellets, and an 18% dairy grain. They are always provided with a high quality high in protein green hay to promote growth and milk production and than are maintained with clean bedding for a healthy living space free of parasites.
